About Us

At Exam Central we have a team of young enthusiastic tutors who are dedicated to ensuring they provide high quality tuition to our students.  All of our tutors have got degrees in their specific subjects and experience of working with young people.  All of our tutors have a good knowledge of the specifications across the major Examining bodies and our standards are kept high due to a quality assurance process which is overseen by Duncan Chamberlain.

Duncan Chamberlain - Founder and Managing Director

Duncan Chamberlain's career has bridged business and education, having worked for Whitbread as a graduate in the commercial sector, as a consultant to companies such as SERCO and Baddiley, and with his own companies based on business development and the service sector.

In education, Duncan has had a career combining two HMC schools (HMC is the group of top independent schools), as a Head of Department, Housemaster and Head of Leadership at King Edward's School, Birmingham and as an Assistant Head Teacher and Head of 6th Form at Trent College, Nottingham. He also rose through the ranks of the examining world, becoming an A Level Principal Examiner for two separate papers and one of the panel who formed the decision on awarding grades.

Ben Inshaw - Director and Head Maths Tutor

Ben has been with Exam Central since it began its work throughout Birmingham.  Ben graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Mathematics and Sports Science in the Summer of 2009 and has since been combining his excellent knowledge of Mathematics with his communication skills to help many students achieve their potential.  Ben has a fantastic reputation amongst many local Schools as he has been developing and leading interventions designed to ensure young people gain the grades they deserve in their GCSEs and A-Levels.  Ben has a vast knowledge of the specifications across all the major exam boards and works with students from ages 9 - 18.
